440R-S13R2 is a safety relay of the Guardmaster series. It is equipped with 1 dual-channel universal input, 3 sets of safety contacts and 1 set of normally closed auxiliary contacts. It can be flexibly configured into automatic reset or monitored manual reset mode through the front switch.
FAQ:
1.How do I switch between the automatic reset and monitored manual reset modes of the 440R – S13R2 via the front switch?
440R – S13R2 switches between two reset modes through the rotary dial switch on the front:
Positioning switch: Find the reset mode configuration rotary dial switch on the front of the relay. The switch is a core component specially used for reset mode switching. For identification, please refer to the label on the equipment shell or the corresponding legend in the manual.
Switch and match wiring:
- Switch to automatic reset: Turn the DIP switch to the automatic reset position. When wiring, connect terminal S34 directly to the 24V DC power supply. After the safety input loop is closed, the relay output will automatically conduct, and no additional manual operation is required to trigger the reset.
- Switch to monitored manual reset: Move the DIP switch to the manual reset position. A normally open button needs to be connected in series in the loop. When resetting, the safety input needs to be closed first, and then the button is pressed to allow the reset signal to complete the “off-on-off” cycle, and then the relay output will start. At the same time, the normally closed contacts of external equipment can be connected in series to achieve synchronous monitoring of external equipment.
Verification mode: After completing the switching and wiring, by triggering the safety input (such as opening and closing the emergency stop circuit, observe whether the reset meets the requirements of the selected mode to ensure that the switching configuration takes effect.
2.Can the safety contacts and auxiliary contacts of 440R-S13R2 be used at the same time?
The 3 sets of normally open safety contacts and 1 set of normally closed auxiliary contacts of 440R-S13R2 can be used simultaneously:
- Safety contact: The main power circuit of the control equipment is closed when the safety input is normal and opened when the safety protection is triggered to achieve emergency shutdown.
- Auxiliary contact: used for status feedback, normally closed under normal working conditions, synchronous safety contact action to open, can be connected to PLC or alarm indicator light to achieve fault prompts.
