The standard IEC 61800-9-2 specifies the ecodesign requirements for drive systems in the low-voltage range, based on an electrically driven machine in frequency converter operation.
This standard applies to variable speed drives including those with the following features:
- AC/AC converters with 3-phase motors without regenerative feedback functionality
- Supply voltages of 100 V to 1000 V
- System power ratings of 0.12 kW to 1000 kW
The ecodesign regulation (EU) 2019/1781 entered into force on July 1, 2021. All SINAMICS drives which fall under the jurisdiction of this regulation fulfill the limit values defined in the IE2 efficiency class for power losses and are marked accordingly.
