22C-D012N103 is a PowerFlex 400 series high-performance AC inverter without built-in braking IGBT (Braking IGBT). It has built-in PID controller and PIP algorithm, and has purge and damper functions to improve system efficiency.

1.22C-D012N103 does not have a built-in braking IGBT. Do I need an external braking unit when frequent emergency stops are required? What is the compatible model?
22C‑D012N103 does not have a built-in braking IGBT, and an external braking unit + braking resistor must be connected for frequent emergency stops, otherwise it will cause shutdown or damage to the equipment due to DC bus overvoltage. Light load/infrequent braking can be temporarily disabled, but it is not recommended for emergency stop conditions.
Compatible models:
- Braking unit: 22-B012-N101 (5.5kW/380-480V)
- Braking resistor: 22-R075-B (750W, conventional)/22-R150-B (1500W, large inertia)
Key points: Connect the DC bus (±DC) and select the resistor power according to the load to ensure heat dissipation.
2.Can the 22C-D012N103 communicate directly with an Allen-Bradley PLC (such as the 1769-L33ER) through the CIP protocol? Need additional modules?
The built-in RS485 of 22C‑D012N103 only supports Modbus RTU, etc., and cannot directly communicate with 1769‑L33ER for CIP (EtherNet/IP). You need to add 22‑COMM‑E (EtherNet/IP module) or 22‑COMM‑D (DeviceNet module), both of which support CIP.
