Product Introduce
1756-IA16I is a 16-channel digital input module of the ControlLogix series. It has 16 independent digital input channels and supports AC/DC mixed input. It adopts a fully isolated design between channels and has an isolation voltage of 1500V AC (1-minute withstand voltage test). It supports hot swapping. The module can be replaced while the ControlLogix chassis is powered on without affecting the operation of other components of the system.

FAQ:
1.1756-IA16I supports two response times of 9ms/18ms. Do different response time levels have an impact on the power consumption and anti-interference ability of the module?
The 9ms/18ms two-speed response time of 1756-IA16I has no impact on power consumption, but is directly related to the anti-interference ability:
- Power consumption: Only the software adjusts the sampling frequency, the hardware loop remains unchanged, and the backplane current and total power consumption remain constant.
- Anti-interference: The 9ms gear has fast sampling, high real-time performance, and weak resistance to instantaneous interference; the 18ms gear has many sampling and verification times, and has stronger resistance to strong electromagnetic interference.
2.1756-IA16I adapts to 74–132VAC wide voltage input. When the input voltage is close to the upper and lower threshold limits, will the signal recognition stability of the channel decrease?
When the input voltage of 1756-IA16I is close to the lower limit of 74VAC or the upper limit of 132VAC, the signal recognition stability will decrease slightly, which is also within the industrial range:
- Near the lower limit, recognition delays and occasional misjudgments are prone to occur due to voltage fluctuations/interferences.
- The optocoupler works critically near the upper limit, the signal consistency is slightly reduced, and there is no risk of hardware damage.
- Engineering suggestions: Control the input voltage within the 85–120VAC range, and use thicker wire diameters for long-distance wiring.
