Mitsubishi FR-D700 series inverters are widely used in small automation equipment, conveyor belts, fans and pumps, which are favored by automation engineers for compact size, stable performance and easy parameter configuration. Today we are going to share the step-by-step parameter operation guide for FR-D700 frequency converter, including factory reset operation and common parameter writing error troubleshooting.
1. Operation Panel Introduction
The FR-D700 control panel integrates LED digital display, rotary M knob and function keys for quick mode switching, parameter browsing and value modification.
- PU/EXT key: Switch between PU panel operation mode and external terminal control mode. The PU indicator lights up under PU mode.
- MODE key: Toggle between monitor mode and parameter setting mode. PRM lamp will light when entering parameter setup.
- SET key: Confirm parameter selection and save modified values.
- Rotary M knob: Scroll to select parameter codes and adjust parameter numeric values.
- RUN / STOP / RESET: Start, stop and fault reset function.
Panel LED indicators show running status, forward/reverse rotation, parameter mode, alarm information and unit status.
2. Factory Reset (Parameter Initialization)
Note: If parameter Pr.77 = 1, parameter clearing cannot be executed.
- Press the PU/EXT button, switch the drive to PU operation mode, the PU indicator lights on, and screen shows 0.00.
- Press MODE button to enter parameter setting mode, PRM indicator lights on, display shows P.0.
- Rotate the M knob to scroll parameters until the screen shows Pr.CL (Parameter Clear) or ALLC (All Parameter Clear).
- Press SET to enter the parameter value editing page, the default value is 0.
- Rotate M knob and change the value to 1.
- Press SET again. The screen will flash and alternate display between value 1 and Pr.CL / ALLC, which means the setting is saved.
- Power off the inverter and restart it. Now factory initialization is completed.
3. Common Errors When Writing Parameters
Er1: Write Inhibit Error
Reason:
- Pr.77 (Parameter Write Selection) is set to prohibit parameter writing.
- Overlapping setting range of frequency jump parameters.
- Abnormal communication between PU panel and inverter.
Check points: Verify the setting value of Pr.77; Check Pr.31 ~ Pr.36 (frequency jump parameters); Check the connection between PU unit and inverter.
Er2: Write Error During Operation
Reason: Parameter modification attempted while motor running or STF/STR terminal is ON (when Pr.77 ≠2).
Solution: Set Pr.77 = 2, or stop the inverter before modifying parameters.
Er3: Calibration Error
Reason: The bias and gain calibration values of analog input are too close. Check points: Check C3, C4, C6, C7 analog calibration parameters.
Er4: Mode Specification Error
Reason: Trying to edit parameters under external / network operation mode when Pr.77≠2; PU panel has no operation authority.
Solution: Switch to PU mode before editing parameters; Set Pr.77=2; Remove external parameter unit FR-PU04-CH / FR-PU07, set Pr.551=9999(default), or set Pr.551=4 for PU authority selection.
4. Pr.77 Parameter (Parameter Write Selection)
Pr.77 controls the permission of parameter writing, to prevent accidental modification of parameters.
表格
| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| 0 | Parameters can only be written when the inverter is stopped (factory default) |
| 1 | Parameter writing disabled (locked, cannot modify any parameters) |
| 2 | Allow parameter editing in all running statuses |
Important Notice: Even if Pr.77=2, some core parameters still cannot be changed while running. You have to stop the inverter first. The restricted parameter list includes: Pr.23, Pr.40, Pr.48, Pr.60, Pr.66, Pr.71, Pr.79, Pr.80, Pr.82, Pr.83, Pr.84, Pr.90, Pr.96, Pr.178~182, Pr.190/192/197, Pr.261, Pr.298, Pr.450, Pr.561.
Pr.338 and Pr.339 can be modified during operation when Pr.77=2, but the new setting only takes effect after stop and restart.
