1794-IF4I is a FLEX I/O series 4-channel isolated analog input module. It has 4 differential-side isolated input channels and supports a variety of configurable voltage and current signals. The voltage covers ±10V, 0 – 10V, etc., the current includes 4 – 20mA, 0 – 20mA, etc., and the external adapter is 19.2 – 31.2V DC power supply, including 5% AC ripple can also work normally; Flexbus voltage is 5V DC, current 50mA, current consumption at 24V voltage is about 125mA, maximum power consumption is 4W, supports rail or panel installation, enclosure protection grade is IP20; operating temperature range is – 20 – 55℃, can withstand 30g working impact and 5g (10 – 500Hz) vibration.

1.The channel update rate of 1794-IF4I can be selected between 2.5ms/5.0ms/7.5ms. Will the adjustment of the update rate affect the signal acquisition accuracy?
1794-IF4I adjusts the 2.5ms/5.0ms/7.5ms channel update rate without affecting the acquisition accuracy:
- Accuracy is determined by Σ-Δ analog-to-digital conversion technology, 16-bit resolution, and factory calibration parameters, and is independent of rate.
- The rate only determines the signal response speed: 2.5ms adapts to dynamic signals, and 7.5ms adapts to slowly changing signals such as temperature.
- The low-speed mode can extend the filtering time, weaken high-frequency interference, and make the signal smoother, but does not change the accuracy itself.
2.How to configure communication between 1794-IF4I and CompactLogix PLC?
1794-IF4I needs to be paired with a 1794 series Flex I/O adapter (such as an adapter that supports EtherNet/IP) to connect to CompactLogix PLC, and the entire configuration is completed through Studio 5000 software:
- Hardware connection: The module is installed on the terminal base → connected to the Flex I/O rack → the adapter is connected to the PLC Ethernet port to ensure the same network segment.
- Software configuration: Create a new PLC project and go online → add adapter (fill in IP, rack size) → right-click the adapter to add 1794-IF4I, configure slot, RPI and channel signal type.
- Verification call: The software automatically generates labels, monitors values or writes ladder diagram calls. If the value changes with the sensor, the configuration is successful.
