FAQ:
1.Does 1783-US8T support broadcast storm suppression function?
1783-US8T supports the broadcast storm suppression function, which adopts a fixed packet rate threshold for port rate matching. No manual configuration is required, and it automatically takes effect in non-management mode.
- 10 Mbps port: 20 pps (packets per second).
- 100 Mbps port: 200 pps (packets per second).
- Mechanism: Based on the packet count threshold, if it exceeds the limit, the over-limit broadcast packet will be discarded to prevent network congestion.
- Configuration: No management interface, threshold cannot be modified, enabled by factory default.
2.After the replacement model 1783-US8T 1783-USP8T is upgraded to a Gigabit port, are the installation dimensions of the two the same? Can they be directly replaced?
1783‑US8T has the same mounting dimensions as the replacement model 1783‑USP8T and is a direct replacement:
| Parameter | 1783‑US8T | 1783‑USP8T | Compatibility Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimensions (H×W×D) | 114.5×76.8×45.6 mm (4.5×3.02×1.80 in) | 114.5×76.8×45.6 mm (4.5×3.02×1.80 in) | Identical dimensions; mounting positions and DIN rail clips are fully interchangeable |
| Port Configuration | 8×10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports | 8×10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports | Same physical port form factor; auto‑negotiation ensures rate compatibility |
| Power Specification | 24 VDC/AC (18–30 VDC/AC) | 24 VDC/AC (18–30 VDC/AC) | Matching power interface and wiring specifications; shared power supply supported |
| Protection Class / Mounting | IP30, DIN rail mounting | IP30, DIN rail mounting | No differences in mounting method and protection level |
| Core Difference | Fast Ethernet ports only | Gigabit Ethernet ports (bandwidth upgrade) | Full functional compatibility; direct replacement without disrupting network topology |
3.The 8 electrical ports of 1783-US8T are all 10/100 Mbps rate. Can they communicate compatible with Gigabit devices?
The 10/100 Mbps electrical port of 1783-US8T can communicate with Gigabit devices compatible with it. It can be reduced to 100 Mbps through automatic negotiation and supports full duplex/Auto-MDI/MDI-X. There are no compatibility issues, but it cannot take advantage of Gigabit bandwidth. Gigabit speeds can be directly replaced with 1783-USP8T.
